CalMag for plants

CalMag is short for Calcium & Magnesium fertilizer supplements. Calcium and Magnesium are essential nutrients for healthy growth and development in your plants.

Calcium helps fortify cell walls which in turn helps your plants transport nutrients.

Magnesium plays an important role in photosynthesis (the process by which plants produce energy from sunlight) by stabilizing the chlorophyll molecule.

Powder CalMag

Powdered fertilizers are more concentrated than liquids and are easier to ship and store in large quantities. Powders require dissolving in RO water using mixing equipment before they are ready to use. Best for experienced growers and commercial operations.

FAQ’s

The most accurate way of spotting a CalMag deficiency is by testing the pH of your soil (6.0–7.0). If the pH is too high or low, your plants will have difficulty absorbing nutrients and start to show signs of deficiencies. The most common signs of a CalMag deficiency is yellowing leaves, brown spots, stunted growth, brittle stems and lacklustre leaf structure.

Read our full article about how to spot and correct a CalMag deficiency here.

Yes, an overuse of CalMag supplements can cause nutrient lockout, where the plant cannot absorb other essential nutrients.

My typical average is a steady 20-22 lbs with 8 lights. On the first round of use, we went from 22lbs to 29.84lbs and we have held steady with an average of 7 lbs increased production since we implemented Amplify. At first, it was hard to believe. Now, all can say is thank you.

Plants are LOVING it. Even my Kale, that should be dead at this point in the Tennessee heat is re-growing since adding the Amplify two weeks ago. My plants went from almost dead/ finished to fully thriving. So weird. But so cool!

Shout out to Amplify for putting together a great product. Our main cultivation facility at Twenty20 has been implementing trials on Amplify for the past 6 months. So far the results are impressive. We’ve managed to lower our fertilizer input and improve overall health and vigor in our crop. We are not a company that relies on excessive additives and “snake oil” magic formulas. We do however rely on living microbes to create nature’s finest recipe for plant success. We are excited to continue our experiments with Amplify and will be sharing the quantitative results as soon as possible
